Security Strategist for Västerås City

Västerås City is at the forefront of crisis preparedness and total defense. In the fall of 2024, a community project was implemented that laid a solid foundation for enhancing the city's preparedness capabilities until 2030. We are now working proactively to implement decided measures. This is a fixed-term position for 1 year.

Your Responsibilities

As a security strategist, you will focus on developing and improving the city's civil preparedness and capacity within total defense. Together with your competent colleagues, you will drive proactive and strategic work by formulating and implementing strategies, guidelines, training, and other activities aimed at enhancing the city's preparedness capabilities.

Depending on the needs of the organization, you may also be offered the opportunity to engage in other areas within total defense and civil preparedness.

Your Qualifications

You have an academic education in total defense or law enforcement, or other relevant education combined with professional experience, and good knowledge of crisis and preparedness planning as well as relevant legislation. Experience in staff work, crisis management, project management, or project-based work is an advantage.

You can effectively drive, plan, and coordinate, both strategically and during societal disturbances that require coordinated efforts and leadership. You enjoy working in teams and can easily adapt to circumstances. You have the ability to translate theoretical knowledge into practical information, training, and support for employees, where your communication skills to adapt to the target audience are of great importance.

Additional Information

The position is security classified, which means that a security review with background checks according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. In some cases, Swedish citizenship is required for security-classified positions.

During the interview, you will need to verify your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or a personal certificate along with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit.
